Structure of the Movement

The name of the movement is “Adige Gupsise Gup (Circassian Thought Group)”, abbreviated as AGG.

Vision

AGG is a think tank established to serve and create a foundation for the Adige (Circassian) community by contributing to:

  • The protection and development of its material and spiritual existence and human capital,
  • The preservation, advancement, and accurate representation of its culture,
  • The enhancement of its representation at local, national, and global levels,
  • The acquisition and strengthening of organizational capacity and the ability to act collectively at all levels,
  • The determination of short-, medium-, and long-term strategic visions for the future.

Mission

  • To preserve, sustain, and develop Circassian culture, particularly the mother tongue,
  • To prevent cultural erosion, fulfill our responsibility to the past, and learn and teach our history and culture,
  • To assume responsibility for building the future by developing multidimensional relations between Xeku (the Homeland) and the diaspora,
  • To conduct activities at local, national, and global levels in order to protect the interests of the Adige (Circassian) community.

Core Values

  • To embrace Xabze (Adige social norms), strengthen ties with Xeku (the Homeland), safeguard the material and spiritual values of our history and culture, and adopt universal values such as fundamental human rights, freedom, equality, justice, and moral integrity,
  • To carry out activities within frameworks agreed upon in councils, to use inclusive and respectful language, and to foster harmony based on mutual respect among members of the community with differing views,
  • To act in accordance with the legal systems of the countries in which we reside and to refrain from positions unrelated to the interests of the Adige (Circassian) community,
  • To adhere to national and international principles of law and justice, to uphold the principle of peaceful coexistence of all humanity with its differences, and to oppose all forms of violence, terrorism, and racism,
  • To prioritize accountability in relations and actions, and to take respectful, effective, and appropriate positions regarding the decisions, statements, and practices of states, communities, individuals, and institutions on matters affecting the Circassian community.

Purpose

The purpose of the movement is to realize the above-stated mission, vision, and adopted values.

To achieve its purpose, AGG:

  • Establishes an effective communication network within the Adige (Circassian) community,
  • Encourages academic, literary, and artistic works related to Adige (Circassian) culture; motivates researchers and producers to undertake culture-specific studies; and supports the original activities of civil society organizations in these fields,
  • Contributes to initiatives such as libraries, archives, museums, memory spaces, and similar efforts that collect and preserve knowledge, documents, and works belonging to the Adige (Circassian) cultural heritage.
